About the trip

In this trip you will explore parts of Unbonratchathani and one of its river fisherfolk community that sits on the bank of this great river. Ubonratchathani is an underrated travel destination but it is a province worth visit for travelers looking to wander off the beaten track. This trip is a combination of road trip to and cultural exposure with a little bit of adventure. The road trip part will take you to national parks scattered around this province. You will see waterfalls, historical paintings, and scenic cliff on Mekong river bank.

On the cultural part you will visit a fisherfolk community and partake in their daily life activities. Get hand-on experience in indigo dye and tie activities, fishing with traditional techniques, and local cooking in authentic northeastern style.

Meet the villager

Please note that this is a private tour, so we can adjust things around to suit your needs.

We strongly recommend at least 3 days 2 nights for this trip.

Upon your arrival to Ubonratchathani in the morning, we will meet you and take you to a breakfast place in town. It’s the best start as you will get a glimpse of the atmosphere of this province.

Then we will start the road trip to a national park where you will spend some time exploring around. In the afternoon, we will make another stop for sightseeing, and then proceed to the village.

You will get to know the locals there and have dinner with them. At night you will receive a welcome ceremony from the villagers.

Your accommodation for the first night will be a small resort not to far from the village or you can choose to sleep with a family in the village.

On the second day you will visit two more national parks and pend most of the time there. In the early afternoon you will return to the village for dye and tie activity, and then and we will have dinner on the beach in a camping style.

Day three is a day you return to Kanchanaburi. On the way back you will visit places along the way before we reach Ubonratchathani in the late afternoon.
